If you live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, you carry a story shaped by both breaking and becoming.

I’m Meghan—a photographer living with EDS—and The Kintsugi Chronicles was born from my belief that our bodies and lives are not ruined by what we’ve endured. Like kintsugi, our fractures can be filled with gold, becoming part of the beauty rather than something to hide.

This project invites people with EDS into a collaborative, virtual photo session where we create images and stories that reflect resilience, grief, softness, strength, and healing. Your portraits and words will be shared to help others feel less alone—and to remind us all that our stories matter.

If you feel a tug reading this, it’s probably meant for you. 🤍

SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTTOM TO GET INVOLVED

“It felt so validating creating with Meghan who also understands the weight of migraines. Putting my pain into art and co-creating with someone who gets it felt incredibly freeing. I am beyond grateful for this experience.”

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold- built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400 year old technique actually highlights the “scars” as part of the design.

Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches an important lesson: sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful and resilient.

Before your session, I invite you to answer a few gentle questions. These help me understand your story, your healing journey, and the themes that want to be seen and expressed through your images. You are welcome to answer as briefly or as fully as feels right.

There are no right words here—only your truth.

Your responses will be held with care and used solely to prepare for your session and create imagery that reflects you: your resilience, your tenderness, and the beauty of becoming.
